It has been over a year since Google Plus has been launched. Is everybody there already? Others are still not as open to change as we would like to however if you want to get a wider connection you might want to consider Google+.
Below are 5 Top Reasons businesses should consider Google+.
#1 Circles
Where you have friends in Facebook, you have circles in Google+. With circles you can control who has access to your posts. Group your friends and contacts according to how you wanted them to see view your profile, say you photos of your vacation to friends, business-related topics to colleagues and even share insights to limited people. Privacy and confidentiality are rolled into one with Google+’s circles.
#2 Posts and Comments
You can write a lengthy post on your profile without having to be restricted to a number of characters permissible. It is more of blogging means than simply a social network site, not to mention formatting you can do with your posts. You also control how comments are processed.
#3 Photos
Photos are visual values. These are displayed well in Google+. It also has a feature to enhance your pictures within the platform, how’s that for display?
#4 Content Sharing is Indexed
Google is all about search engine…and more. +1 to your page would give you more opportunities to be visible in search results. And if you notice, comments to posts have more essence. It also shows that in Google+, users are involved in sharing what goes around the platform.
#5 Google+ Local – IMPORTANT!
If you are a local business that counts on traffic to your Google Places this is extremely important. Google Places is now Google+ local. So when someone pulls up your Google Places listing on Google it sends them over to Google+ Local. BUT if you have not merged your Google+ page and your Google Places, then they show up as two separate listings.
You must first have your Google Places set up. Then set up your Google+ page and link it to that page. BUT wait, you’re not done! Next, go to the top of your Google+ page and click the icon (see image below) to verify it. They will then send you a postcard. This can take 3-6 weeks. Once you get the postcard, enter the pin # and now you have one listing instead of two!
My suggestion is get a presence on Google+. Is there a ton of active traffic? No, but it is growing. And being that Google keeps merging all their pieces together, it seems to me any business owner should take a bit of action here. So, yes, businesses should consider Google+!
