Here’s how to get your original HOA off Youtube and Upload Direct to Facebook for HIGHER Reach!
You’ve recorded a Google+ Hangout. It is now out on Youtube. With the recent changes, Facebook would prefer a direct upload to Facebook. Studies have been done that indicate when you upload a video directly to Facebook, your potential for viral reach is ten times higher than when you use a YouTube link.
If you have a show, these tend to run longer than 20 minutes, so it will take a little more work to cut that down, but worth the extra effort.
#1: On your YouTube Channel go to: ‘Creator Studio’
#2: Click on ‘Video Manager’
#3: Click on ‘Videos’
In this case, I am going to use our interview with Ravi Shukle as the video we download. Now this interview was 28 minutes, which is too long. For Google+ Hangouts, I actually prefer to use one tip. Grab a short clip that is maybe 20-60 seconds long that grabs attention to watch the rest.
- First, click the down arrow next to the edit button
- Then, click ‘Download MP4’
Now the original video file is in your computer. The next step is to edit using a video editing tool. Video editing is not my area of expertise, so I use the basic Movie Maker that is on my PC for free (or you can download at ____) Click on:
- Add Videos
- Find the MP4 of the Video on your Computer and Load it in
Now the video will be in your Video Editing Software. Find the part you want to choose to post and clip it down.
Click ‘Edit’ Find the part you’d like to keep and ‘Trim’
Save this clip to your computer now. I save mine as ‘Save Movie’ for high definition display. Now it is ready for Facebook.
The next step is to upload this clip (the original from your computer) to your profile or page.
Once it is done, you have a video that Facebook loves, this video will get higher reach and will auto-play in the News Feed.
Here’s how the video clip of the interview with Ravi looks on my Facebook profile.
