Top 10 Social Media Podcast Shows 2013 for Business Owners & Entrepreneurs
Within the last year I became an avid listener of podcast shows. Yes, I’m an addict! What I love about podcasts is I can nurture my brain while getting other things done. Being a busy mom and business owner myself, whenever I can multi-task, I do. That is why listening to podcasts is a great fit for me and many others. I have listened to them while cooking, cleaning, rollerblading, laying in the sun, and pretty much any time I have some sort of task to do that does not involve a lot of thinking.
eMarketer projects that growth will continue for the U.S. podcasting audience through 2013 – 37.6 million people will download podcasts monthly, more than double the 2008 figure of 17.4 million. Podcast downloaders are expected to grow from 9% in 2008 to 17% in 2013.
This list of Podcast shows consists of mostly Social Media and Online Marketing, while it also involves some entrepreneurial mindset shows too. It also is not in any particular order. The ones that are more geared to social media are the first ones. So here’s my list:
TOP 10 LIST of Podcast shows 2013
#1: Online Marketing Made Easy with Amy Porterfield
Amy’s podcast is full of educational material. She has a mix of lessons she teaches herself, which have included a 3-part Facebook course to teaching about Facebook ads. Her lessons are very detailed with lots of golden nuggets. She also has had numerous guests, from James Wedmore teaching video marketing to building a course with David Siteman Garland.
#2: Social Media Marketing with Michael Stelzner
Michael’s show was actually the first one I started listening to. I heard about it through his website and thought I’d check it out. It is an amazing show full of incredible guests and tons of hot topics in social media. It is always timely material on what is happening in social media.
#3: The Nuclear Chowder Online Marketing for Small Business Podcast with Mike Brooks
I ran across this one recently searching in iTunes and instantly I was hooked. I am now trying to catch up with his last 10 epidsodes and each one has been extremely informative for any business owner. His podcast interviews numerous experts in the online world, like Gary Vaynerchuk and Cliff Ravenscraft. His content discusses podcasting, content marketing, Google changes, blogging and more.
#4: Social Media Pubcast by Jon Loomer
I love how Jon’s podcast has the ‘pub feel’ theme. He makes it a little more fun and relaxing by having a beer with his guests. Then they chat about mostly Facebook marketing, but other online marketing too. He recently had Mari Smith on his show talking all about hashtags. His podcast is always entertaining and educational!
#5: The Inside Social Media Media Podcast with Rick Mulready
His podcast focuses on Big Brand Strategies for Small Business Budgets. He interviews social media experts (to name just a few) from the NBA, Forbes, GE, Walmart, Coke and even NASA. What is so cool about his podcast is he learns the strategies that the big brands are doing, but brings it down to a small business level that any business can implement.
#6: Social Pros Podcast with Jay Baer and Jeffrey Rohrs and Zeina Weist
I will admit this is another recently found podcast for me. They keep it light and fun, yet very informative. They have guests that teach about current happenings in social media. The focus of this show is people doing the real work for real companies and teaches current social media successes happening in the real world. Lots to learn here!
#7: The Rise to the Top: Online Business with David Siteman Garland
I have to say that this is my favorite podcast where I never miss an episode. David is so witty, fun and just such a genuine person. He makes you feel like you are sitting right there having a conversation with him. His show focuses on ‘mediapreneurs’. So he has a real niche-focus. He interviews top-notch experts all over the web from Michael Stelzner, Amy Porterfield, Ryan Lee and so many more. This podcast is for anyone that is marketing a business online, but really helps the ones that want to build an online membership program too.
#8: SEO 101 – Ross Dunn and John Carcutt
This show helps me stay up on latest Google changes and SEO. The two chat about all the latest and greatest (and not-so-greatest) happenings in the SEO world. They really focus on not overwhelming businesses with all the technical pieces, but discussing in a way that is understandable. This show is for anyone that wants to be up on the latest in SEO.
#9: Smart Passive Income Podcast w/ Pat Flynn
This podcast focus is on automation, outsourcing, crowdsourcing and any area to make money with online marketing. His podcast has incredible guests that are successful through online marketing. This show really makes you think about working ‘smart, instead of hard.’
#10: The School of Greatness with Lewis Howes
Lewis has an amazing podcast that focuses on inspiring entrepreneurs. He has incredible guests that share their successes and inspire. His background is athlete, author and online marketing and he brings all these areas into his interviews and lessons.
Yes, I do see my own podcast in the near future. If you have your own, let us know. I’d love to check it out!
